Pennies and change add up

Walking, finding change on the ground

  1. Rather my husband and I are driving to the store or walking around the neighbor hood we're find change, mostly pennies but on occasionally we find quarters, dimes even nickles. We pick up the change place it in our pockets. When we are done shopping or returning home from our walk we place the change we find in the money can. From the change from our purchases we save that change too, put it in our money can. It may take you awhile but at least you know the change is there to use for on a rainy day.
  2. I remember my grandma telling me when I was a little girl, she say a penny saved is a penny earn. Also it does help setting goals in your life even though it may take a bit longer. I set goal for myself so I place all my change in a money can to save it up for a car. It also teaches you the value of a dollar. I know to some it may sound silly, some folks may say; it is going to take a long time to reach your goal to buy a car. That is there opinion, they have that right to their opinion. They may be right but it teaches me to save. If I really want to accomplish this goal then I will work hard saving more and more. I now put a few dollars in my can once a month. No matter how determine or tempted I am to spend it, I think about my goal.
  3. Save a penny or loose change adds up...it just takes a bit slower. Back in my childhood years I can remember when you could buy candy for a penny. Many times I did not have a penny or a nickle. I wanted so much to buy a piece of candy. Sure daddy or grandma would give me allowance once a week but when your child, it don't dong on you the value of a dollar or saving for a rainy day but when you get older, economy changes, prices risen, you learn quickly.
  4. Saving my change I get back from my grocery bill or other purchases and change I some times found on the ground gives me something to work towards. It teaches me when I reach my goal, accomplish that goal I can proudly say to myself I done it. It gives you a great feeling inside a great feeling to set other goals in your life.
  5. I had a doctors appointment, got my eye exam. After my exam the doctor said; your going to need by-focals. I said okay. Asked the doctor how much is the glasses and by-focal going to run. He replied back to me, well; the price is going to vary, it all depends what kind of frames you pick out. I did not need a fancy pair of glasses I told the doctor. I went over to wear they had many sorts of kinds of frames to pick from, yes I did look at prices. I knew my budget so I tried to stay within that budget. Of course the eye doctor said; we have payment plans. No I replied back to him, I want to pay for my glasses right out, okay the eye doctor said. I told the doctor it will take me a few months.
  6. Walking home I look on the ground watching my steps. I found some change. I saved and saved every penny, every change, put a few dollars back. Within a month and a half I had the $275.00 to pay for my glasses. I believe when you earn, save your money, you appreciate things more, take better care of them. The feeling I had when I took the money I saved up to pay for my glasses in full and by cash. My glasses are 2 years old now, in good shape, I keep them in a eye glass case, take good care of them.
  7. It took awhile for me to save $275.00 but I was determine to do it. A penny, a nickle, any loose change I save. It is money too, can be spent the same as if you had paper money in your pocket. I don't have inheritance or given a golden spoon. I married for love, not money so my husband and I scratch every penny, we go without. If it can be fix, we fix it our-self. If it is broken, we fix it.
  8. I get paid once a month, after we pay all our bills there is nothing left over so I do odd jobs here and there, answer survey that may pay a few dollars, some times I get lucky I may do a survey that pays $10 to $50. When I get paid I take half of it put it in my can. Think about the old times back when our parents or grandparents were kids, how they struggles to make ends meet. I remember grandma would have this old cookie jar, every week she put a few dollars in the cookie jar. Grandma would say; I save back a few dollars for a rainy day, grandma would tell us that is how her and pop-pop bought there first home, purchase there first car. I was so impressed, learn a lot from grandma's cookie jar. A penny save, is a penny earned.
